Okay, so I don't have full voltage. What's the big deal?
This snippet is from Ogura's full length troubleshooting online video. In this 20 second video segment, we show the relationship of voltage to torque generation in a clutch or brake.
If you have a constant current supply, the relationship to voltage and torque is almost linear.
What this means is if you have a clutch or brake with a 12 volt coil and you are applying 8 volts, you are only going to get 2/3 of the torque out of the clutch or brake.
Make sure that the input to the clutch or brake is at its rated voltage.
